Baked Apples Wonton


8 cups apples

Juice of 1/2 lemon or orange

2 tablespoons honey or 1/4 cup sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

4 tablespoons butter, melted

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon honey

Scraps of wonton wrappers, chopped roughly


  1. Preheat oven to 350° F.
  2. Peel and dice the apples. In a large bowl, combine apples with the juice of 1/2 lemon (orange juice will work if you don’t have a lemon). Toss apples with the honey or sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Place apples in a buttered baking dish.
  3. Prepare the topping by combining the melted butter, vanilla extract, and honey in a large bowl. Add the wonton scraps and toss. Layer the topping on top of the apples. Bake 45 minutes, “stirring” wonton topping every 10 to 15 minutes until brown and crispy. Remove from the oven and drizzle with a little honey if desired.
