It’s amazing how good cabbage is when cooked this way. Because it’s so simple, I never have to hunt for the recipe card or look up the recipe to make out my grocery list. And it can be on the table in 15 minutes or less.
1 head green cabbage (would also work well with savoy cabbage)
Butter (about 1 tablespoon per 2 cups of shredded cabbage)
Salt and pepper to taste
- Chop or shred as much cabbage (discarding the core) as your family/guests will eat.
- Melt butter in skillet over medium heat and add cabbage and salt to taste. Sauté until the leaves start to wilt.
- Cover the skillet, reduce heat to low, and cook for about 5 minutes more or until soft. Season with fresh ground pepper to taste.
